Catrina Starr began her DJ career at small music events in Western Massachusetts and New York. Having received a full scholarship to college at the age of 15, she was granted early admission and received her degree by the age of 17. Eager to move to "The City", she headed to NYC graduation day and was soon after hired at Satellite Records. This marked a pivotal and very influential point in her life as a musician and DJ, and by the age of 18 she could be heard in some of the most representative and legendary clubs of the electronic music scene in New York City such as Limelight and Tunnel, other spots like Float, Groovejet, Lot 61, and Infrared Lounge. Later she became a regular Thursday act at Club Metropol in the Strip District of Pittsburgh before it closed its doors in 2003, and continued playing in Pittsburgh at Pulse, TUSP’s music and art event, Faded Fest, and Diesel Club Lounge. No stranger to the international music scene either, Catrina Starr has played at the Motiva2 Music Festival in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, Spain; New CHIC, Plano B, Club Pitch, Espaco LP, Soul, and the legendary Industria Club, in Porto, Portugal; and Surf Arinsal in Andorra. Catrina Starr: Yep it's another original by Accatone. (FYI The entire release is truly fantastic.) A little minimal, a little grungy, a little etheral, a little progressive, this track gives and takes beautifully, getting under your skin and transporting you into a new realm of deep, into a "no matter where you go, there you are" groove. Nice as a filler, for layering, or as a set transition-er.
