So I'll be honest, not all the tunes for this summer I like are jazzy and fluffy, but they sure are damn good, beefy and bold. Check my latest chart out! :)

Kate!Rush: I could listen to this all day.
Mizeyesis: I adore Furi Anga's space in production... the atmospheres paint such a beautiful picture with some complex intelligent drums, deep bass, piano... so soothing. A beautiful composition.
Mizeyesis: Furi Anga is one of the DNB masters of atmospheric production with some of the warmest and most beautiful pads known... I first heard of this producer as Seba remixed a tune of his "Painted Skies" and wanted to hear more from Furi. And thankfully we have this as this is a brilliant tune which exemplifies exactly the type of cinematic and lush composition this producer embarks on. Beautiful bit perfect for summer.

Mizeyesis: I'm a choppage fanatic which goes back to my early developed love of jazz and funk as a child. Impact goes in on this tune, taking chopped funk and jazz breaks, mathematically placing them in perfect sequence, underlaying some elephant basslines with some reese, and overlaying some soft mysterious pads in sequential balance is why I'm in love with this sub-genre of drum and bass so dearly. A beautiful dip away from the norm of what many are used to in DNB, Impact showcases the diverse ingenuity and brilliance electronic music takes course in.
Mizeyesis: If you have ever caught me spinning out live or my radio on Jungletrain.net, I get pretty deep with my jungle. I will not play the obvious stuff unless the energy calls for it so with that said, we have a perfect example of some of the sounds I'm truly into by Impact. I grew up on a mix of many things, some of that mix including jazz, funk and punk. I hear all influences of this in this tune. Jungle is based off of jazz & funk breakbeats and those rolls in the edits are reminescent of a drummer in a 1950's jazz band going off on an improv, however no, in the science of this style of jungle/dnb known as DRUMFUNK, the emphasis is highly and meticulously placed on the edits... Then we have the drive of the reese bassline which gives it a tad bit of a neuro edge which is the obvious punk influence. I love this tune, the choppage against the nuero bass and the mysterious floaty pads, with the occasional elephant bassline perfectly placed in sequence with the drums make this one top tune for my proud junglistic nerdom. Proper.

Mizeyesis: Never disappointed with the immense quality of Mikal's production and this tune is sumptuous! Deep rolling basslines, rich piano, some percussion, sweet pads, a beautiful summer bit!
Mizeyesis: Mikal's production is consistently clean. I became first acquainted with him back in 06-07 and have been a fan since. His range is amazing as he can go from a minimal dnb tune to a liquid tune to a solid dubwise tune and then some. This is def more on the lines of his liquid meets minimal steppas steez but the bass is rich, solid drum sequences, great pads... I mean if you want to lay back and chill on a nice summer day to this you can, or if you want, like most will do you can dance the night away to the fantastic vibes on this! Quality!

Mizeyesis: Gridlok knows how to make a proper dancefloor steppa. This tune is FILTHY and oh so so so so so good!
Mizeyesis: If you ever heard of the term "steppa" this probably is a perfect example of what a meaty steppa, or hardstep DNB tune is. And of course its from Gridlok, US DNB royalty and known for a long time of making some of the most heavy hitting tunes for sometime now. I love this full release as it brings me back to a sound in DNB I loved... Many of the tunes made in 2000-2006 had this steppa vibe and its great to have a revival of this which I know for sure will go well on the dancefloor. How could it not, running drums, heavy bass, congos, vocals... its a full bodied tune!
BeatJunkie: Dark, heavy, "smuggler" gives it proper and beats it hard. Gridlok <3!

Mizeyesis: This tune is FIYAH!!!
Mizeyesis: Heavy hardsteppin jungle which incites riotous dancing as feet pattern over amen breaks to mimic the riddims of these beats. That's exactly what I think of with this tune, and the subconscious ringing of "I need you, I want you" to add to this, is almost an homage of junglists to the dj, yes thank you, we need you AMEN breaks. Fantastic tune by Mr Explicit.

Mizeyesis: What a sumptuous tune. First you have this serene build up of lovely pads and vocals then in comes the stabs and then it DROPS into a steppa of the utmost kind. Reminds me of 2001 Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware type tunes. I love this, and so will dancefloors. Trust!
Mizeyesis: Here's another hardsteppin' steppa... Gosh, I'm glad producers are releasing this stuff on the DNB scene again. These were the sounds pushed by Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware, Virus, ect for a long time and what helped in the big growth of DNB for such a long time. The dancefloor loves this as its angry but yet still has a ton of funk and soul embedded within it. Big bass, stabs, synths, pianos, running drums... Oh man, I will move forever to a tune like this!

Mizeyesis: Abstractions meet dance. I love this, when liquid, jazzstep, and intelligent jungle can co-exist and collaborate to make something which even the nerds can appreciate. A tune like this will be well received on the dancefloor this summer due to its nature of making you want to shake your booty, and lets face it, the sample is cool!

Mizeyesis: This is the type of tune I adore... Dark, mysterious, full scientific amen edits... Reminds me a little of Paradox's breaks but a little more spacey... This tune is grand, I love it. Drumfunk galore!
Mizeyesis: Another prime example of drumfunk and the type of tunes that make my heart rattle.

Mizeyesis: There's a solid movement in drum and bass right now to return to the sounds started in 92-97 and I for one HIGHLY support and love this notion. This takes us back to the sounds of Reinforced, Moving Shadow, Good Looking and all the glorious melodic, cinematic, atmospheric and intelligent Drum and Bass tunes. Music, its diverse, not always needing to be noisy to be powerful. Beautiful pads, great drum edits, solid bassline... An excellent composition from Beat 70. Even reminds me of some Wax Doctor! :)
Mizeyesis: This tune is like that part of a movie where you see a couple driving off in the sunset in a red convertible, cruising... It has that 1990's PFM, Omni Trio, Foul Play, Moving Shadow vibe with the atmospheric jungle edits, pads, and feel to it. And something I love mixing into sets, whether its my radio show, a club, or whenever. :)

Mizeyesis: Minimal amen steez...
Mizeyesis: I really dig this tune A LOT and its been getting regular play from me, and people LOVE it. Its dark, moody and filthy, but I love it like that. Nice techy feel to it, some intelligent breakbeats, steppa steez... yes yes!
