Archangel: Blues-inspired deep house is difficult to find-- at least the good stuff is. If your slim gig bag of "bluesy" deep house needs something to mix with St. Germain's "Walk So Lonely" then you're in luck. You've found another one! Strummy guitar, slightly moany microsample vocals, and a muddy rumble of rhythm bring the troubles to your floor.

Archangel: Simple, but catchy, this "Not a Remix" pushes ahead with a droning deep beat lying underneath bouncing chords and '70s era disco chorus samples dancing about. The vocal samples are the whole style to the track; they allow this track to have a personality that shines from an otherwise dull husk of a deep track. However, with them, the track gains a slight elegance and the repetitious nature of the other elements seem to be necessary to offset the choral samples. This could work for fashionista sets and others where deep and clever tracks are appreciated.
